SHE ROCKS! LEADERSHIP CHAT 10/30/22

#4 Chat – “Leadership”

Sunday, October 30th @ 3pm, PST.

AFTER THE CHAT:
– Being able to see we’re not alone in our struggles and hear how to navigate those struggles from black women who’ve experienced the same. Also, perception. I really appreciated learning that how you see yourself and how others perceive you are two different things and we need to give ourselves grace and not be so hard on ourselves.

– Hearing how we all struggle. The workforce all has the same types of people no matter where you go. Being able to navigate thru the craziness and still be sane. Each chat seems to get better and better, that is improvement.

– I see how the generational gaps can lead to misunderstandings. I also understood getting to a certain age and not wanting to put up with stuff that doesn’t impact your life in a positive way. It makes me look at my leadership and how I deal with people I care for and those I definitely care less.

– I’m so glad I went, I felt very inspired, and I’m looking forward to the next chat/talk.

– I liked how we really got in depth of what Leadership roles we can take on everyday to become a better leader in our work fields and everyday lives.

– I now know, it’s nothing wrong with letting people know exactly what I need or want and stop stooping to their level to get my point across.

– A leader is not just a title. HEART describes the characteristics of a leader. H-hope, E-empathy,A-attitude,R-respect,and T-truth

– Yes, communication is key, speak up more. We all going through something in one way or another!

Speak Placing Boundaries, Know Your Worth!

This is a great chat in my course right now, we just discussed transactional leadership versus transform leadership.

It’s all about language!!!

I need to write that down for our group when we’re dealing with other folks.

A few qualities of a LEADER: Honest; integrity; trustworthy; determined; persistent; nonjudgmental; fair; confident; independent; compassionate; patience; strenghth; emotional intelligence; brings people together/brings out the best.

Thank you for an informative chat.

JAMBOARD ACTIVITY: Who do you admire and why?

The qualities we admire are the qualities we seek to behold.
