Update 6/15/20 Current Events & ALLOVEME WELLNESS CHECK
While the world continues to be in unrest, it is important to stay mindful of taking care of self and taking care of our own. This is something different for each of us but should be foremost because there is A LOT going on. We GOT THIS! Recognize when we are “full”. Step Back, Think, Breathe, and Plan. Continue to do what we do and be who we are… beautiful, intelligent, successful, loving, strong, healthy, ready women. Keep your eye on the real prize!
I did enjoy reading this article, I hope you will too…How Black Women Are Taking Care of Themselves Right Now https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/black-women-taking-care-themselves-221109305.html
My heart remains with George Floyd’s family. It’s unimaginable, the death, the grief, the media, the pressure, the celebrity, the obligation, the responsibility, all of it is overwhelming. I pray for their health and that they be comforted. I must say, I am proud of my brother, Philonese, George Floyd’s brother, being thrust into the limelight and finding himself in front of Congress! Go, My Brother, Well done.
You just don’t know when life may go from ordinary to extraordinary. Stay ready, Ladies. Do your work and BE READY!
For the ALLOVEME WELLNESS CHECK update, we continue to receive requests for phone calls and we are here! The survey will remain open until June 30th. We are still stocked with items and ready to share. Click here if you need anything. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L8PGZ78
5/31/20 UPDATE: Before sharing our update, join us in praying for our people, all people, and this nation as one. Tragedies continue as we try to cope with the death of yet another black man, George Floyd, at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve us. We can only imagine the turmoil and grief in the lives of his family at this moment and this is where our hearts must lie. We pray that while we seek answers, we will channel our anger, heartache, and exhaustion into honoring his memory and lifting his family during this time. We pray that God will touch the hearts and minds of those who hate and free them from the real issue of hating themselves. This year is truly one challenging us to new heights. We must stay mindful, patient, and enduring.
We pray for our sister Claudette who is traveling with her husband during this time to mourn the loss of his brother. May they be safe, remain healthy and be comforted.
We are also mourning the loss of a brother whose life was dedicated to service and activism. Dr. Elliott J. Mason, Jr. was an academic counselor at Los Angeles Harbor College from 1973 and passed on Friday. We pray he rests in peace. (Well done, Dr. Mason, well done).
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
